This course is the first part of the FDA-recognized training for the Preventive Controls for Human Food (PCHF) rule, developed by the Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance (FSPCA). Completion of both Part 1 and Part 2 meets the requirements to become a Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) under the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA).

Part 1 is a live, instructor-led class delivered in an interactive format, covering essential topics such as hazard analysis, food safety plan development, and preventive controls for food manufacturing operations. This course is ideal for food safety professionals, quality assurance personnel, production supervisors, and anyone responsible for food safety within a facility.

• Overview of FSMA and the PCHF rule

• Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs)

• Biological, chemical, and physical hazards

• Preventive control types: process, allergen, sanitation, and supply-chain

• Food safety plans, verification, validation, and recordkeeping

• Recall Plan overview

 FSPCA Part 1 is online and self-paced.  This must be completed before attending the Instructor Led Part 2 portion to ultimately achieve full PCQI certification.
